Following a successful first session last November (pictured), the MPG’s second event aimed at producers looking to operate more extensively outside the boundaries of label influence will take place on 30 March.
The session – commencing at 7pm and hosted at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, London – will explore marketing and distribution with a panel featuring Karen Emanuel from music format manufacturer Key Production, Jonathan Quarmby from music licensing and distribution organisation AWAL, Michael Fuller from AIM (Association of Independent Music), James McGuiness from Absolute Marketing and Distribution, and producer/MPG director Tommy D.
“The first DIY event was so informative and well received that we felt that putting on a second event that delves into the mysteries of setting up your own record company was a ‘no brainer’,” says Tommy D. “We have a fantastic panel for this one, which will reveal some of the methods of distribution and promotion. If you’re thinking of setting up your own operation or are already doing it, this seminar will be invaluable.”
