Students at Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien or ‘HdM’) have the opportunity to work with Lawo consoles in the recording studio and recently-renovated HD TV studio.
The installation of an mc²56 in the HD TV facility follows the recent announcement of a cooperative agreement between Lawo and the university to develop joint projects in TV production.
“This addition will greatly benefit our potential in the area of television audio,” commented Axel Hartz, professor of TV technology for HdM’s audio visual media program. “We believe that a university programme centred around television media should be well-founded and run as close to real world applications as possible. We are, of course, extremely lucky that the market leader in audio console manufacture is based in our area.”
In addition to participating in training and demonstrations, Lawo has agreed to provide specialists for a ‘Television Production Studio’ seminar.
“This presents a great opportunity for our students to observe and work with professionals,” concluded Hartz.
