What is it?A constant directivity array – taking its place as the tallest model in JBL’s CBT Series of column speakers. DetailsAt 200cm tall, the array of 32 drivers (each 50mm) is said to provide consistent pattern control over a wider bandwidth than is possible with shorter columns or fewer drivers. Vertical pattern coverage is adjustable to either 15º or 30º to match the architectural characteristics of a wide range of venues and a variety of mounting heights. In addition, an ‘asymmetrical progressive-gradient coverage’ mode can be selected for results similar to JBL’s CBT 70J model which directs more sound toward the far areas of the listening space, reducing SPL variations from front to back throughout the area. The CBT 200LA-1’s high degree of pattern control is said to make it suitable for highly-reverberant venues or for medium-to-long throw coverage applications. The enclosure can be operated at direct low impedance or from a built-in 70V/100V transformer. A speech voicing contour switch raises mid-range sensitivity and increases maximum mid-range SPL by 4dB (said to be particularly useful for speech-based applications) and a dynamic Sonic-Guard feature provides low-audibility overload protection. And another thing…The CBT 200LA-1 is supplied with a swivel/tilt wall bracket and MTC-FM flush-mount wall brackets are also available.
