Harman Professional president Blake Augsburger has promoted Scott Robbins to executive vice president of sales.
Effective immediately, Robbins assumes worldwide responsibility for sales operations including management of Harman’s regional sales programmes, its target market sales programmes and all technical service and support. In making the appointment, Augsburger pointed to Robbins’ consistent leadership, strong organizational skills and deep customer empathy: “Scott Robbins has played a pivotal role in building and optimizing Harman Professional’s sales structure. He has also demonstrated a critical appreciation for consistent bottom-line performance and an understanding that for our customers to be successful they need audio technologies that differentiate them from commodity players. These important characteristics qualify him to lead our worldwide sales initiative and I am confident he will deliver for our customers, our partners and other stakeholders.” Scott Robbins is a 12-year veteran of Harman Professional, having been with Crown International when it was acquired by Harman in 2000. He replaces Michael MacDonald, who held the post at Harman for five years before joining ATK Audiotek as president. Prior to his appointment as VP of sales, Robbins was senior director of worldwide sales and before this he held a range of senior sales roles with Harman Professional and Crown Audio. “I am very excited to take on this challenge and expanded responsibility,” Robbins commented. “Harman Professional is a unique organization of great people, world-class brands and category-leading technologies and I consider it an opportunity and an honour to lead the sales efforts for Harman Pro and improve the support for customers across all our brands. Our customers test the thresholds of creative and engineering excellence every day and I am determined to match their creativity and energy with similar commitment.”
