The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) has announced the first recipient of its music production degree scholarship.
Madison Claridge will graduate from ACM’s Guildford campus free from tuition fee debt thanks to the Music Gateway Music Production full scholarship provided by the academy and online networking service Music Gateway.
Claridge said: “I applied for the Music Gateway Music Production Scholarship at ACM because I loved the potential opportunities that it held. I am so pleased to have won and am really looking forward to the next two years studying at ACM and working with Music Gateway!”
ACM tutors drew up a shortlist before industry and technology partners of the academy chose a winner.
Jon Skinner, CEO of Music Gateway, said: “It was extremely tough to come up with a winner as we had so many outstanding applications. It’s really inspiring to see such a high level of dedication and creativity from a broad range of young candidates. Congratulations to our winner Madison and everyone who entered.”
ACM has awarded five scholarships for enrolment on its education courses this year, collectively worth more than £130,000.
Mark Smithers, pathway leader for Music Production at ACM said: “It’s fantastic to work with our long-term partners Music Gateway to offer this scholarship to Madison. His application was incredibly strong and I’m really looking forward to teaching him at ACM and seeing him progress with his bright future in the music industry.”
