Funktion-One primed for NAMM debut with new bass launch

The UK loudspeaker manufacturer is exhibiting at NAMM for the first time

UK loudspeaker manufacturer Funktion-One is set to make its NAMM debut next week, marking the occasion with the launch of a brand new bass enclosure – the F124.

Exhibiting from an 800 sq ft stand (North Hall, stand 1180), Funktion-One will also showcase an array of lines from its existing product roster, including its Evolution and Vero series.

Having never previously exhibited at the LA expo, the firm’s technical sales director, David Bruml, highlighted the growing importance of the lucrative US market.

“The US market is more aware than ever of Funktion-One, thanks to the work of our US distributor, Sound Investment, and the arrival of Vero, which has been used on some really big events. We feel it’s the right time to pay additional attention to developing the US market,” he said.

“We have chosen NAMM for that because we believe it’s the right show, with the right people on the show floor – thanks in no small part to the organiser’s increased focus on pro audio. We’ve considered exhibiting at NAMM for a number of years and are now convinced that our investment in time, stand costs, and travel are worthwhile. We’re confident that our involvement in the 2018 show will be positive and productive, which is why we’ve committed to a large stand. We’re really looking forward to it.”

In other NAMM-related Funktion-One news, company founder Tony Andrews will join Barney Jameson for an hour-long session entitled ‘Acoustics, Loudspeakers and the future of EDM’ on Saturday, January 27 at 17:00 in Avila on Level 4 of the Hilton Anaheim. The pair will discuss Tony’s career to date, from creating an iconic live sound system in the 1970s with Turbosound, to setting the benchmark in club sound with Funktion-One.

Andrews commented: “We hope that NAMM will be a very important show for us by providing a springboard for furthering our endeavours in what has always been an interesting market. We’re in the midst of a very exciting time in Funktion-One’s development, both in terms of technological innovation and market impact. Therefore, we’re looking forward to building on the solid base we have in the States and to making new and important connections.”
