THE NETHERLANDS: Fred Heuves is to leave the company in January after an unbroken 18-year run, writes David Davies. In a statement released to trade media last week, CMO Fred Heuves revealed that he is to leave sound and lighting rental, sales and distribution group Ampco Flashlight on January 1st.
“I have decided the time has come to slow down and make room for the talented new generation within the Group,” he said.
With a history stretching back more than 35 years, taking into account previous incarnations, Ampco Flashlight Group has matured to become one of Europe’s most significant players in the field of audio, lighting and rigging hire and rental. It now has a presence not just in its core markets of the Netherlands and Belgium, but in Germany, France and Romania as well.
Ampco Flashlight recently undertook a series of warehouse moves that mean its operations are now based around three new, purpose-built facilities in Holland and Belgium.
After 18 years with the company, however, Heuves has decided to call it a day. “It has been an exciting period and, looking back at how we started and what has been accomplished – not only in the industry in general, but also within the Ampco Flashlight Group in particular – I feel a modest pride for all of us in this industry and in the Ampco Flashlight Group,” he said.
He also thanked his colleagues and friends throughout the industry, “about whom I have only good memories to look back at. Thanks for having the chance to work with you all.”
