SSE Audio is now an L-Acoustics Authorised Training Centre, meaning it can deliver L-Acoustics Level 1 training to internal and external customers independently from L-Acoustics.
Up until now, when SSE Audio hosted L-Acoustics training sessions, the manufacturer was required to take responsibility of course scheduling, organisation and delivery.
The L-Acoustics training programme is designed to teach technicians, system engineers and sound designers how to best use L-Acoustics systems. Level 1 focuses on technical and operational knowledge of L-Acoustics systems and provides the ability to operate the K systems as a system technician. This then leads onto to Level 2, which focuses on the advanced methodologies and tools for L-Acoustics systems.
Newly certified as an L-Acoustics trainer, Kyle Durno (technical engineer at SSE Audio) explained: “So far we’ve worked alongside L-Acoustics in coordinating our events throughout the year, using our own hire stock equipment with a certified trainer supplied from their existing network to deliver the seminars. Our newly appointed position within the ATC network enables us to provide Level 1 certification more freely, to both new and existing clients, our own staff and the general public. We’ll continue to work closely with L-Acoustics throughout, who will still be required to provide Level 2 certification.
“The ATC agreement empowers us to deliver official L-Acoustics procedures as part of our customer service. As an example, a newly commissioned Kara II integration project would be delivered with a Level 1 certification – ensuring both staff & engineers are knowledgeable in the L-Acoustics workflow.”

UK sales manager Ryan Thomas added: “We’re delighted that we are now an accredited L-Acoustics Training Centre. As L-Acoustics Certified Providers for rental, distribution and systems integration, this allows us to deliver an even better service to our customers and further enhance our working relationship with L-Acoustics.”
The next L-Acoustics Level 1 sessions will be held in SSE Audio’s Redditch HQ, March 17-19. Find out more here.
