Clair Brothers to go global with Cooper

Former Midas sales & marketing director David Cooper steps in to the newly created role of 'business development – global', writes Dave Robinson

Clair Brothers, probably the world’s best-known supplier of audio systems, is making a concerted move to expand its reach outside the US. To this end, Roy Clair, founder, and his son Barry Clair, president, have secured the services of David Cooper in the newly created position of ‘business development – global’ .

The appointment of Cooper is what Clair Brothers calls “the next step in the strategic plan” of making its product portfolio available to a bigger customer base following the recent completion of a factory in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

“We’ve built a state-of-the-art facility that builds premium quality Clair Brothers loudspeaker systems,” says Barry Clair. “The appointment of David Cooper confirms our ambition to deliver these industry leading solutions to customers all around the world.”

Clair Brothers’ products have been installed in many high-profile locations across North America over the past two decades. “Our portfolio continues to grow with our i-series line arrays, providing the highest, most consistent and predictable performance levels available,” continues Clair. “We offer our US customers this product with ultimate service and the goal now is to roll out this level of support globally.”

Cooper – who left Midas Klark Teknik earlier in 2010, after nearly 20 years’ service, to set up his own consultancy – says he intends to grow a network of focused and dedicated distribution channels to complement those that already exist. PSNE reported on Clair Bros’ first dalliance with European distribution through CUK Audio in October 2008. Two years on, Cooper’s appointment signals a significantly bolder worldwide strategy.

“The service and support that the Clair Brothers team provide their customers in the US is second to none, and it is our aim to replicate this service for customers in other locations around the world,” says Cooper. “This brand deserves nothing less.
