ATEÏS closes UK office, partners with Fuzion

A seemingly sudden restructuring of ATEÏS Europe’s UK activities is explained as PSNEurope speaks with the company's sales manager Albert van der Hout on its new partnership with Fuzion.

ATEÏS Europe closed its UK office at the end of May, and announced that audio distributor Fuzion will take over exclusive responsibility for the ATEÏS product lines in the UK and Republic of Ireland, including support for pre-existing installations. ATEÏS Europe’s sales manager Albert van der Hout (pictured) explained the sudden closure: “When you change your marketing strategy, it is better for the customers to be clear from day one who our partners are. It looks from the outside as an overnight plan, but in reality its obvious that lots of preparation has to be done prior to such strategic change.” “The growth we planned in the UK by having our own office and facilities did not received the size we wished for. Our system solutions have become more complex and after-sales and commissioning have become a demanding task. It needed an organization that has its wings spanned out well across the UK,” he added. According to the ATEÏS Europe release, the plan for the company is to “build a distributor network across mainland Europe that boasts full in-house services, from rack building to final commissioning.” ATEÏS and Fuzion have already worked together – along with Fourways Communication – on a number of projects in the rail sector, including installs at Kings Cross St Pancras, Reading Station, and Transport for London’s new Paddington underground station. This previous relationship, said van der Hout, further supported the decision to close the ATEÏS UK office: “Fuzion has been our customer for many years and we outsourced rack building and services already for some of our projects. The match was there and it needed a change in our organisation to implement it. With Fuzion we have a well-organized and skilled team available for design, rack building, commissioning and aftersales. Beside the PA/VA business, Fuzion is well introduced in the commercial audio market where our line arrays, audio-processing devices and IP-converters fit perfectly.”
