Adlib among first to take Soundcraft Si Performer

Adlib is one of the first companies to have invested in Soundcraft’s Si Performer – the recently-launched hybrid audio/lighting console – having bought four from Sound Technology at this year’s PLASA show.

Adlib is among the first to invest in Soundcraft’s newest console, the Si Performer. The company purchased four of the recently-launched hybrid audio/lighting desks from Sound Technology at this year’s PLASA show, following a purchase of three new Soundcraft Vi6 consoles earlier this summer. Adlib’s director Dave Kay confirmed that the Liverpool-based production company ordered two Si Performer 2 (with 24 recallable mic pre amps) and two Si Performer 3 (with 32) for rental stock. “Si Performer 3 can be used as a monitor desk to work alongside our Soundcraft Vi consoles and the Performer 2 will be popular in the corporate world as a FOH desk. We have CAT5 cards and already own Vi standard and Compact stage boxes with which they are compatible, so it gives us a lot of options.” At the same time Adlib has taken its stock of Soundcraft Vi desks, which have been very popular with rental companies, into double figures after purchasing three new Vi6s. Originally destined as part of rental stock rotation they have gone straight out to service the fast growing live venue portfolio of VMS Live, run by Richard Maides and Steve Forster. “As a result of this, Adlib is now up to four Vi1 and seven Vi6 consoles, and with the need to rotate stock we will probably be in the market for more of these,” said Kay. Adlib will be using some of those Vi6s this Autumn for tours with Ultravox and Jason Mraz. The company will also be hosting open days with the Soundcraft consoles, and other Harman products, on 26-27 September at their headquarters in Liverpool.
