ABTT Theatre Show starts tomorrow

Allen & Heath, d&b and Nexo are among the many companies set to show new products at the 2010 ABTT Theatre Show, which takes place at the Royal Horticultural Halls, London, on 16 and 17 June.

Audio representation at the UK trade event has increased by approximately 90% between 2000 and 2010.This year’s instalment continues this record of strong coverage of new audio innovations, with Allen & Heath, d&b, Nexo and Yamaha Commercial Audio among the manufacturers displaying their latest offerings.

Organisers are promising a ‘full house’ for the show, with pre-registration levels at least 18% higher than in previous years.

Allen & Heath’s iDR-64 is a large, fixed I/O version of the iLive MixRack and is able to work with the same firmware as the other products in the range. It will be on display alongside the recently introduced iLive-R72 controller and the iDR-16.

d&b will exhibit the full range of E-Series of cabinets, as well as the Remote network and version 6 of the ArrayCalc simulation tool. d&b products will appear on Duran Audio’s booth, together with products from L-Acoustics, which is also exhibiting in its own right, Digidesign, Yamaha and Soundcraft. Duran Audio will highlight own loudspeaker systems, including the AXYS Scope self-powered range, aimed at the theatre and corporate markets. Receiving a UK launch are the AXYS Beam Shaping subwoofers.

NEXO – making its debut at the ABTT Theatre Show – will exhibit the RS 18 2×18-inch compact subwoofer, as well as the PS R2 Series, which is an updated version of the established PS cabinets offering higher SPLs.

Orbital Sound will show the Da-Cappo water-resistant micro microphones, which it is now distributing exclusively in the UK. Also on the stand will be digital radio mics from Zaxcom, Roland mixing desks and foldback systems, and CSC Show Control software.

Red Square Audio’s main focus will be on a new loudspeaker system jointly developed by the company and Tannoy. The Tannoy VQ LIVE is aimed at fixed installation work and is able to cover a 1,500-seat, two-tier theatre from only two cabinets.

Sound Technology will display the Soundcraft Vi1 digital mixer (pictured), Crown’s i-Tech HD power amps, AKG DMS700 digital wireless microphone system, the JoeCo Blackbox digital recorder, and JBL’s sub-compact VerTec mini-line array loudspeaker system.

Elsewhere on the showfloor, MiLTec UK will exhibit multi-channel amps and 1U mixers, while Canford will highlight the latest addition to the TecPro range.
