UK: Retail prices of the Soundcraft MH2 mixing console range in the UK have been reduced by 30% with immediate effect following what Harman Pro UK describes as "improvements in manufacturing at Soundcraft". And in other Harman-related news, the distributor recently organised a series of product showcases that saw three fortunate visitors walk away with limited edition AKG C414 microphones, writes David Davies.

The third desk in Soundcraft's MH Series, the MH2 live sound console is suited to venues requiring a mixer capable of acting both as an FOH desk or a monitor mixer. It comes in four frame sizes, with an integrated switched-mode power supply that can be removed for easy maintenance.

Meanwhile, this year's Harman Pro UK product roadshows - which took place in Dublin, Liverpool and Guildford - were, noted marketing manager Amanda Chester, "the best attended ever". Incorporating sessions including PA School ("as we suspected, a lot of people want to know more about how to get a good sound out of a PA!"), the events culminated with the AKG C414 prize draws.

While the winners in Liverpool and Guildford were both students, the victor in Dublin was Brian McGrath, sales manager at Irish Harman dealer Reynolds of Raphoe. "One or two of my customers weren't too happy about me winning the mic and were suggesting it was a fix, but that's what a prize draw's all about," he said. "A literal case of the luck of the draw!"
