SAE Institute/Qantm to hold London college open day next month

UK: Audio, multimedia and digital film college the SAE Institute has announced plans to hold a series of open day events in the near-future. The first - at the SAE Institute London/Qantm - will take place on October 28th, reports PSN-e.

To be followed by events in Glasgow and Liverpool that will boast a similar format, the London open day will run from 12pm to 5pm and will incorporate demonstrations of the Audio, Digital Film and Multimedia courses in the studios and classrooms. College tours will be available at regular intervals (on the hour from 12pm to 4pm).

There will also be an opportunity to find out about the new Interactive Entertainment courses and the new Music Business course, which is said to be the UK's first. This programme of study - which begins in January - is reportedly "geared towards those needing a solid understanding of the business side of the world's most dynamic and exciting industry". Information will also be available on the college's other, pre-existing courses, which include an Audio Engineering Diploma, BA (Hons) Recording Arts Degree, Electronic Music Production Certificate, Digital Film Making Diploma and BA (Hons) Film Making Degree. Qantm College courses include - among others - Web Design, Multimedia Web Design and Development Diploma.

SAE London to move to new facility in Q3/4

UK: The SAE Institute's London operation is expected to move from its current location on Caledonian Road to a more modern seven-storey campus on Kingsland Road in the second half of this year. The new 18,000sqft facility will "accommodate more students with even more resources", reports PSN-e.

SAE Group has announced that Australian education provider Navitas has acquired 100% of SAE Institute and Qantm College. All key SAE Institute management have agreed to stay on, including Tom Misner (pictured).

New SSL-based London studio opens

UK: BSS Audio Soundweb training will take place at Sound Technology's Hertfordshire HQ, writes David Davies. The company will offer two free one-day courses on both BSS Soundweb series, Soundweb Original and Soundweb London, on a monthly basis. The next available Original course is due to take place a week tomorrow (October 8th), while the next London session is scheduled for October 22nd.

RSG to host UK open afternoons

UK: Roland Systems Group has announced plans for a series of Open Afternoons, writes PSN-e. To be held in Gateshead, Manchester and Walsall in early June, the events will introduce the new M-400 Digital Mixer and the Digital Snake (pictured), the latest technologies from RSS by Roland. There will also be presentations from RCF, Sennheiser and Roland's sister company Edirol.
