OBEDIA inks new DAW training and support agreement

US/EUROPE: Following PSN-e's recent coverage of technical training and support provider OBEDIA's plans for European expansion and new support programme for purchasers of Rain Recording DAW systems (read the full story here), the US-based company has revealed that Terra Digital Audio will be offering an OBEDIA service package with each new Terra Digital M6-R Core 2 Duo and MX2 Quad Core computer system sold, writes David Davies.

US/EUROPE: Following PSN-e's recent coverage of technical training and support provider OBEDIA's plans for European expansion and new support programme for purchasers of Rain Recording DAW systems (read the full story here), the US-based company has revealed that Terra Digital Audio will be offering an OBEDIA service package with each new Terra Digital M6-R Core 2 Duo and MX2 Quad Core computer system sold, writes David Davies.

The programme launched with a special introductory promotion - running from August 15th to September 15th - that provides a customised 65-minute OBEDIA package (valued at $99.99) to Terra Digital Audio users at no charge.

Speaking to PSN-e recently in the wake of the Rain Recording agreement, Garth confirmed that OBEDIA was increasingly active in European countries (England, Ireland, Germany, Belgium and France) and Japan, and had plans to further enhance its non-US service provision. "We operate 24/7, which makes time zones a non-issue, and the only current limiting factor is that we provide our services in English only," he explained. "However, that will change as the demand increases, and Spanish and French will most likely be the two languages we provide next."

US/HOLLAND: The recent ISE exhibition in Amsterdam saw two significant announcements from US manufacturer Biamp: the appointment of a new distributor for the Benelux region, Electric Sound Benelux BV, and the European launch of a new Network Paging System that is said to feature "all the power of [Biamp's] AudiaFLEX DSP and the simplicity of a single-cable, Networked Paging Station," reports David Davies.

Harman Pro UK announces two new training initiatives

UK: Harman Pro UK had announced details of another training day for live sound engineers wishing to find out more about the Soundcraft Vi6 digital live sound console (pictured). The event will be held a week this Friday (March 7th) at the head office of SSE Audio in Redditch. Also on an educative tip, Harman Pro UK has announced that it is to begin a regular series of free industry training sessions aimed at improving PA-related knowledge amongst retailers, with the first event to take place at the company's headquarters in Potters Bar on April 16th, writes David Davies.

APRS to provide UK support at AES

UK: The APRS and UK Trade & Investment want to hear from new UK product innovators and manufacturers, reports PSN-e. The Association of Professional Recording Services and the international trade organisation UK Trade & Investment (which is headed up by Lord Digby Jones and Andrew Cahn) are inviting emerging innovators with prototype products and young manufacturing companies interested in exporting to the USA to apply for support in attending this October's AES Convention.

New online delivery variations from NIN and Coldplay
