O2 Academy Oxford upgrades with Coda installation
Academy Music Group enlisted Liverpool installation specialist, Adlib, to supply and install a Coda Audio LA12 / SC8 PA system at its 1,020 capacity auditorium at O2 Academy Oxford.
The installed system, which will be used for 250 shows a year, comprises of 8 x Coda LA 12 full range 3-way speaker enclosures, utilising 2 x 12″ neodymium ultra-low distortion woofers, 4 x 3.5″coil neodymium mid-range drivers and 3 x 4″neodymium planar wave drivers.
The sub-bass units are 6 x Coda SC8F Subs containing 4 x extremely long excursion 18” neodymium ultra-low distortion woofers with an integrated velocity sensor that measures, compares and controls cone movements.
The system is processed by Coda’s DNC260 Processors and powered by Coda’s C10 Class H Amplifiers, which deliver 5000W per channel at 4 Ohms.
The system has a proven track record with Adlib’s rental department on varied events including the King Tuts Stage at T In The Park 2014-2015, Latitude Festival, Creamfields, V Festival stages along with touring acts including Panic! At The Disco, OMD, Placebo, Mrs Brown’s Boys and Jack Whitehall.
Andy Dockerty, managing director at Adlib says: “The system provides an extremely high SPL (sound pressure level) before any indication of distortion and is one of the most efficient systems currently on the market.”
Caren Ashton-Penketh, general manager at the O2 Academy Oxford comments: “We wanted to invest in a first class sound system for great audio that can meet the demands for touring international artists as well as the high level of major club brands that we work with.”
