SPAIN/ITALY: Spanish loudspeaker manufacturer Vieta Pro has confirmed Sisme S.P.A. as its new distributor for the Italian market. "When Claudio (Bugari, Sisme president) says he can do the right job for Vieta in Italy, I believe him," Vieta's Nacho Alberdi tells PSN-e's David Davies.

Based in Ancona, near Bologna, Sisme's extensive distribution portfolio already includes L'Acoustics, Celestion and Shure. Nearly 40 years after it was established, the business remains in private hands - something that clearly appealed to Vieta's managing director.

"It is unusual to find such a large distribution company that is still in private hands," says Alberdi, pictured (left) with Claudio Bugari. "Our Do and So Lines complement their existing product portfolio perfectly, and technically and organisationally Sisme are a strong company and very well-respected by their suppliers and competitors. But this is still a people business and when we both started talking about our personal backgrounds, that's when it really clicked. Claudio and I both come from family businesses and have seen many changes in the way the market works and what is required to keep up."

For his part, Bugari believes the addition of Vieta Pro will help to enhance Sisme's presence in several key sectors. "It is Sisme's firm intention to further increase our market penetration in the PA rental and installation fields, at both the professional and the semi-professional levels," he explains. "Adding Vieta Pro to our product portfolio will allow us to continue to develop our already strong relationships in these important markets."
