The connector, receptacle, jack and plug manufacturer will henceforth identify its products with a unique hologram of the Neutrik name and logo that assures customers they are using "original and legitimate" equipment. In addition, the company will also include an authenticity seal on its individual and carton packaging.

GERMANY/US: Neutrik has announced a new initiative to guarantee product authenticity, writes PSN-e. The connector, receptacle, jack and plug manufacturer will henceforth identify its products with a unique hologram of the Neutrik name and logo that assures customers they are using "original and legitimate" equipment. In addition, the company will also include an authenticity seal on its individual and carton packaging.

The new initiative is only one aspect of continuing anti-counterfeiting action by Neutrik. Most notably, the company is marking all shipments on both the individual packing and carton packages with the message 'designed and manufactured for the US market' in a bid to avoid unauthorised exports from the US to Europe. Neutrik is asking customers outside the US who come across these products to inform them immediately so that appropriate action can be taken.

"Neutrik is committed to protecting its brand and reputation. Our new signature hologram will ensure that our customers receive a genuine Neutrik product," commented Jim Cowan, president of Neutrik USA.

The latest content to be added enhances an already substantial collection of live recordings and vintage memorabilia that has its origins in the personal archive of late concert promoter Bill Graham, a legendary figure on the US live music scene who was perhaps most closely identified with the Fillmore East and West venues. The site is named after Graham's given name of Wolfgang Grajonca.

Gala launch for UA's next-generation UAD-2

UK: Universal Audio has launched the next generation of its DSP card and powered plug-in platform, writes Phil Ward. UAD-2 was launched at London's glamorous Soho Hotel at an event held in conjunction with UK distributor (and part of HHB) Source Distribution. It drew delegates from across Europe's recording and post-production supply chain as UA's executives masterminded a simultaneous release of the package to retail outlets worldwide.

AES details 125 workshop plans

US: Archiving and the retro format trend will be among the key workshop themes at AES 125, writes David Davies. "Our mandate for the 125th AES Convention Workshops Program was to identify the most compelling issues facing the pro-audio industry, and to select panels capable of clarifying them," said workshops co-chair Dave Harris (pictured). "In addition to a number of strong individual presentations, we have also grouped a pair of presentation tracks to address Archiving and Game Audio as comprehensively as possible."
