EUROPE/US: Last month's ISE exhibition saw several notable announcements from L-Acoustics, reports David Davies. New developments included the "progressive deployment" of a certified System Integrator Network for the fixed installation market in France, UK, Germany, the Netherlands and the US, and a new edition of the SOUNDVISION software.

The new network is based on three working principles defined in the System Integrator Charter, namely: the use of a systematic methodology and the deployment of specialised services from specification to post-integration stages of installation projects to ensure end-user satisfaction; the adoption of a full system approach in design standard to ensure predictability and optimisation of system performance; and the guarantee of qualified product specialists to ensure a standard of excellence through education.

Entry into the network begins with a preliminary audit to ensure the integrator's activity and resources match the requirements of the charter. After staff training is carried out, the integrator is listed in a directory and receives System Integrator status and associated privileges, which include access to sound design, advanced system measurement, tuning services and support for system commissioning.

L-Acoustics will publicise System Integrator activities through the directory and regular marketing, and adds that it is set to introduce a new training programme in April to provide system and sound design for System Integrator product specialists.

In a separate development, the manufacturer also introduced the new SOUNDVISION 1.6 electro-acoustic simulation software at ISE. New features include an updated product library and the adoption of the unified colour template for WST line sources and a gain structure matching the new V2.0 preset libraries. The SOUNDVISION 1.6 upgrade package is available for existing users via the second link below.
