World-renowned theatre, the Kammerspiele in Vienna, was equipped with a portable Polaris touch console following a refurbishment in 2013.
The theatre, built in 1910, was completely gutted and rebuilt during the project. Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup was commissioned to install the audio system.
The new console will now take over as the main console for mixing the wireless microphones and orchestra and will be used in combination with the CAS Mix, which has been in operation at the Viennese theatre for the past ten years. The CAS Mix, which is permanently installed in the sound control room, handles the playbacks.
CAS Mix and Polaris touch use the same DSP unit, which is possible as the CAS Mix DSP unit can be accessed in parallel by up to four control surfaces.
The new system has been in operation since October 2013 and Catch me if you can was the first production in which the new system consisting of the CAS Mix and Polaris touch combination was used.
