A new addition to Tannoy’s VX Series range of premium-grade passive sound reinforcement loudspeakers will debut at the 2015 Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show, running from today until 12 February.
The VX 8M is a full-range dual-concentric loudspeaker the TC Group brand says will provide a “compact, yet punchy and sonically vibrant solution” for small-to-medium-scale performance sound reinforcement. With a tightly controlled 90° dispersion for optimum coverage and forward gain, the VX 8M (pictured) has a peak output of 119dB and a recommended amplifier power of 260W.
A rugged, highly compact birch plywood enclosure, available in textured black and white paint finishes, has been ergonomically designed to offer a greater degree of flexibility. The new cabinet design includes 40° and 60° angles, making the VX 8M ideal for use as a dedicated floor monitor, with the 8″ driver providing high-clarity vocal monitoring. The enclosure offers a pole mount and vertical yoke as standard options. Audio connection is via a recessed termination panel with two SpeakOn connectors, offering a cleaner and more durable solution which Tannoy suggests would suit a busy rental company or flexible venue.
A steel grille has been added to the VX 8M, and now comes as standard on two of the larger format boxes from the range, the VX 12 and the VX 15. The new VX 8M can combine with any Tannoy VX loudspeaker or VSX Series high-performance subwoofer.
Also new at ISE from TC Group are the QFlex Life Safety range – two new additions to Tannoy’s QFlex series of digital beam-steering column arrays – the Tannoy THL-1, a large-format tunnel horn loudspeaker for emergency voice alarm/communication (EVAC) systems; Tannoy’s CMS 3.0 ceiling speaker, making its European debut; and the Lab.gruppen D Series platform, an install amplifier range based on the PLM 20000Q.
