UK: The Institute of Sound and Communications Engineers event will take place on March 2, writes David Davies. ISCEx2010 - to be held at the Park Inn Hotel in Watford - will incorporate presentations on subjects including voice alarm project management and switching amplifier topologies.

In addition to the aforementioned sessions by Rupert Moon and Anthony Smith, respectively, the seminar programme will also include presentations on the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety 2005) by Andy Scott (SigNET AC) and digital audio networking by Peavey's James Kennedy.

Meanwhile, the exhibitor list includes Baldwin Boxall, Cloud Electronics, Communication Technology, CUK Audio, Duran Audio UK, Fuzion plc, Ikon AVS, Institute of Acoustics, Neutrik (UK), Rackz, RCF Spa, RK Sound Engineering, SigNET (AC) and TOA Corporation.

ISCE president Terry Baldwin tells PSN-e: "ISCEx is one of the few exhibitions devoted to the sound industry. Visitors are expected from a wide range of sectors, including transportation, retail and commerce, together with sports facilities, bearing in mind the forthcoming 2012 Olympics."

Josie Barker from ISCEx exhibitor Fuzion adds: "ISCEx is always a well-attended and well-focused event, providing a variety of exhibitors and thought-provoking seminars for the industry sector. Fuzion have exhibited for a number of years and are looking forward to being at ISCEx2010 in March."

ISCEx2014 seminar details announced

ISCEx2014 will take place on 4-5 March at the Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre. The event commences with drinks and dinner on the opening night, before the exhibition starts at 9.30am on the following morning.

UK: The North of England entertainment technology networking event will take place in Leeds on April 28/29, writes PSN-e. Billed as an informal two-day event providing an opportunity "to find solutions and discover what's new for 2009", PLASA Focus Leeds supersedes the A.C. Lighting North Trade Show, which was acquired by PLASA in 2007.

Orbital to relaunch training seminars

UK: Orbital Sound is seeking to boost sound engineering qualifications in the theatre industry, writes David Davies. The company is reintroducing its multi-day training seminars for students, with the first - the two-day 'Sound Skills for Theatre' - scheduled to take place at the company's South London HQ on October 2nd and 3rd. According to Orbital Sound, the course will provide "an intensive, hands-on look at the technologies and challenges facing theatre professionals in the rapidly advancing world of theatre sound."

Euphonix and IBS announce joint initiative

UK: The audio manufacturer has linked up with the Institute of Broadcast Sound (IBS) for a new promotional effort, writes David Davies. The joint initiative is aimed at enhancing awareness of the IBS organisation and the benefits it offers to today's audio professionals, and boosting membership.
