TC Group brands Tannoy and Lab.gruppen made two major product announcements today, coinciding with third day of the InfoComm show in Orlando, Florida.
Tannoy’s surface-mount architectural AMS series of loudspeakers, incorporating its new Dual Concentric (DC) technology, are engineered to produce a “sonic characteristic that is perfectly matched” with its CMS 3.0 ceiling loudspeaker, launched last summer and shown at ISE earlier this year (see ISE 2015: Tannoy VX 8M leads new launches from TC Group). The AMS series provides “a uniformly transparent and seamless sound signature throughout a multi-zoned venue equipped with both ceiling-mount and wall-mount Tannoy speakers”, says the British manufacturer.
The latest DC speakers have their origins in high-end recording studios, where the signature Tannoy technology has been used to mix and master many of the world’s most recognisable recordings. Comprising a range of seven models, the AMS series is designed for entertainment and hospitality venues, as well as “areas where true sonic clarity and reliability is required”.

Lab.gruppen has extended its range of ultra-compact power amplifiers with addition of two dedicated 70V output models: the LUCIA 120/1-70 and LUCIA 240/1-70. With power ratings of 120W and 240W, respectively, into a single output, the new amplifiers offer AV installers the option of driving 70V distributed loudspeaker systems while retaining the small form factor, input flexibility and GPIO facilities also featured in LUCIA low-impedance models.
“There are many applications – ceiling systems in corridors or meeting rooms for example – where installing a 70V system is the preferred solution, but there is no convenient nearby location for an equipment rack,” says Klas Dalbjorn of Lab.gruppen. “In these situations, LUCIA’s exceptionally small footprint, light weight, multiple mounting options and input flexibility provide installers with an absolutely reliable and highly cost-effective solution. LUCIA is not only easy to install, easy to set up and easy to hide, but it’s also Energy Star approved for green building certification.”
