UK: Pro audio equipment dealer mjQ is organising a major online studio auction and sale at Eden Studios in West London this week. In excess of 500 lots of pro-audio equipment are due to be sold between Thursday (July 12th) and Saturday (14th), writes David Davies.

Pro Tools HD rigs, SSL E and G consoles, a range of outboard effects, compressors, amplifiers, acoustic panels and cable looms are among the equipment set to be made available. A full catalogue for the auction is available now at mjQ's website, with some gear ready for online viewing at the Eden Studios site. mjQ is also going to make some equipment available through its eBay shop (all links below).

"We first encountered Philip (Love) and Mike (Gardner, both directors of Eden) at The Midem Festival about 30 years ago when they were the first UK studio to push the boat out in Cannes," recalls mjQ director Malcolm Jackson. "They invested early in top quality equipment and became the first real residential studio in London. Eden always had the latest innovative gear and soon became the favourite West London studio with a long list of producers and artistes as their regulars. They later reinvented themselves into post-production and always carried out these moves with an air of informality - but supported by their intense commitment to provide a top quality service to the industry."

Describing itself as "the definitive auctioneer of quality recording equipment", mjQ has previously overseen auctions at recording facilities including Abbey Road, CTS Wembley, Trident Studios, The Production Village and the London Studio Exchange.
