US: AES has posted a comprehensive Calendar of Events for the 125th Convention, writes PSN-e. Following the coverage of the workshop programme included on last week's PSN-e (read here), AES has now issued an event calendar on its website that includes programme titles and abstracts, participant names and drop-down boxes of essential information.

US: AES has posted a comprehensive Calendar of Events for the 125th Convention, writes PSN-e. Following the coverage of the workshop programme included on last week's PSN-e (read here), AES has now issued an event calendar on its website that includes programme titles and abstracts, participant names and drop-down boxes of essential information.

"The 125th has all the markings of a watershed Convention," commented AES executive director Roger Furness. "The Committee has outdone itself in developing an expansive, informative, entertaining and extremely useful programme. The Workshops, Papers, Tutorials, Technical Tours, Platinum, Broadcast, Live Sound, Student, Historical and Special Events planned for the 125th Conventions will appeal to literally every sector of the professional audio community."

The 125th AES Convention will take place at San Francisco's Moscone Center (pictured) from October 2nd to 5th. Expect more details and product previews on PSN-e during the next few weeks.

US: Studio legend Chris Stone will be the keynote speaker at AES 125, writes David Davies. In other news relating to the organisation's next US Convention - to be held in San Francisco this October - it has been announced that John Strawn and Valerie Tyler will serve as event co-chairs. While Strawn is arguably best-known as a co-founder of Yamaha Music Technologies USA, Tyler is an acclaimed audio editor and freelance live sound engineer.

AES Convention Live Sound event schedule revealed

US: The Live Sound event programme at the 123rd AES Convention will incorporate sessions on houses of worship audio and sound system alignment & measurement, among other subjects. The Convention is scheduled to take place at New York's Javits Center from October 5th to 8th, reports PSN-e.

AES 125: mastering panel & product previews

US: Bob Ludwig is to preside over an all-star Mastering Panel at the AES Convention this Saturday, reports PSN-e. The 'Platinum Mastering - Ask the Experts' session - set to take place on October 4th between 11.30am and 1pm - will feature input from Ludwig (Gateway Mastering), Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering), Scott Hull (Scott Hull Mastering/Masterdisk), Herb Powers Jr (Powers Mastering Studios) and Doug Sax (The Mastering Lab). Meanwhile, DK-Technologies and Solid State Logic are among many companies to have issued details of products they plan to exhibit in San Francisco.

US: More details have emerged about the next AES US Convention, writes David Davies. According to John Strawn, who is co-chairing the Convention Committee with Valerie Tyler, "we have an exceptional Committee in place, and have been holding monthly planning sessions since November of last year. In addition to a special celebration in recognition of our Diamond Anniversary, we are developing an extraordinary programme focused on the pivotal developments and concerns of today's professional audio world."
