RUSSIA: AEQ has undertaken a major digitalisation project at the National Radio of Russia, reports PSN-e. Having already supplied four AEQ ARENA digital mixers to the broadcaster, AEQ recently provided NRR with a fifth unit for use on its BECTN 97.5FMN channel. The mixer supplied consists of a 25-fader control surface, an associated central frame featuring the audio processing DSPs and the digital and analogue audio boards, and a redundant 300W power supply.
A total of 15 of the 25 physical faders are use in normal operation, leaving 10 for back-up purposes. In addition, the AEQ ARENA mixer includes up to nine independent virtual pages on the same surface of control, enabling the overseeing of up to 235 different signals simultaneously, should such capacity be required in the future.
The project was coordinated by AEQ's Russian distributor, Qualitron, with support from technical personnel based at AEQ's head office.
