UK: Ableton is to showcase its Live software at venues in the South and the Midlands this autumn, writes David Davies. The events are designed to introduce Ableton's Live software to any DJs and producers who are unfamiliar with it, while offering tips to existing users. There will also be giveaways, including a free trial version of the software and a 700-sample Loopmasters CD.

Ableton is currently bundling frequency modulation synthesiser Operator free with Live, and the end of this promotion will coincide with the final dates of the roadshow. There will also be special offers available to those who wish to buy Ableton software during the tour.

"There are two main objectives for this tour," Simon Halstead, marketing coordinator for Focusrite/Novation, tells PSN-e. "Firstly, to introduce and demonstrate Ableton to people who have not yet had an opportunity to see it in action. Secondly, to provide ideas and tips to existing Ableton users about how to get the most out of their software. Our expert will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice to experienced and new users."

The Ableton Live roadshow will call at the following venues in October: SAE Oxford (12pm, 5th); Digital Village, Bristol (sessions all PM, 13th); Digital Village, Cambridge (sessions all PM, 15th); Digital Village, Birmingham (sessions all PM, 17th); Digital Village, Southampton (sessions all PM, 20th); Digital Village, London Clapham (sessions all PM, 21st); Point Blank, London (11am, 25th); and Andertons, Guildford (4pm, 28th). Two dates are also scheduled for November: SAE Liverpool (3rd, 6pm and 7pm) and Dawsons, Liverpool (4th, 11am onwards).

A high turnout is expected, so registration is requested via the first link below. All attendees will be entered into a prize draw to win a pair of KRK Rokit 5 monitors, a Novation Remote SL Compact, a Novation Nio 2/4 and Ableton Live Suite.

Halstead adds that a northern England/Scotland tour - set to take in "most major northern cities" - is on the agenda for March 2009.
