US: Paul Giansante, whose distinguished engineering and sound designing career has entailed work with Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder and Dire Straits – among many others – has joined Meyer Sound in the role of touring manager. The position will find him working closely with tour liaison manager (and previous collaborator) Buford Jones, reports PSN-e.
Giansante arrives at Meyer Sound after several years with Sennheiser/Turbosound, and has previously worked with such other well-established touring companies as Britannia Row, Nuovo Service and Maryland Sound. In addition to his considerable on-the-road experience, Giansante has also been involved in loudspeaker design and/or commissioning at venues including Oakland Stadium (latterly McAfee Coliseum) and Princeton University Stadium.
Meyer Sound’s executive vice-president, Helen Meyer, described Giansante as “an invaluable addition to our touring group”, adding: “He brings with him the real-world touring experience of a consummate professional, and an intrinsic understanding of our clients’ needs. We’re pleased to have him as part of our team.”
“I’ve worked with Meyer Sound equipment most of my career, and everywhere I’ve toured on six continents the name Meyer Sound has been synonymous with the finest sound available,” commented Giansante. “It’s exciting to be part of the company and work with my friend and colleague Buford Jones to further Meyer Sound’s growth in the touring industry.”
