The upcoming Tonmeistertagung, hosted by VTD, takes place in Cologne, Germany, from November 14-17, and will mark the exhibition's 30th anniversary, where presenters will reveal the winners of the Student 3D Audio competition, with an Ambisonics sound system.
The exhibition is established by the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) in Graz, Austria, and will mark the competition's second anniversary.
The TMT audience will be presented with the nominated pieces under optimal 3D monitoring conditions, achieved by installing state-of-the-art multichannel systems. The winners will be selected and presented in the Tonmeistertagung's large R5 hall on Thursday, November 15. Guests can witness the presentation via an Ambisonics sound reinforcement system.
“This year is the second time the European Student 3D Audio Production Competition is taking place,” commented Matthias Frank from the IEM Graz. “A panel of 17 international judges reviewed 27 entries in three categories. In the presence of the judges, the top three in each category will present their works to the public in a grand finale and receive their awards.”
