Universal Audio has introduced Allan Timms as its newest member of the executive team in the role of VP of engineering. Timms joins UA with a wealth of experience leading hardware, software and mixed-signal engineering teams. In his new role at UA, Timms will develop and deliver critical architectures for UA products.
As the head of software engineering at Logitech, Timms was responsible for all embedded, mobile, desktop and cloud software stack teams, as well as the overall software strategy. Prior to Logitech, Timms spent more than 10 years in various engineering leadership roles at Qualcomm, culminating as director of engineering, Smart Gateway Products.
“Hiring a talented and experienced engineering leader like Allan into the UA family during this period of growth is an exciting development for the company,” remarked Universal Audio CEO and founder Bill Putnam, Jr. “His experience creating innovative and scalable systems — both in and outside of audio — will help us to invent the next generation of classic-sounding tools for audio engineers, producers and musicians.”
Timms commented: “I’m more than excited to join the Universal Audio team. As a lifelong audiophile and engineer, I’m thrilled to be working for a company with such a great legacy in audio, and a genuine ‘family’ feel. We are going to build some great things together.”
