SWEDEN/TURKEY: Meanwhile, Turkish rental outfit Bros Technic has added dV-DOSC line array equipment to its inventory, reports David Davies. As a result of its decision to join the K1/KUDO pilot programme, Swedish rental company Music & Lights has taken delivery of a system consisting of 48 K1 line source cabinets along with K1-SB and SB28 subs, 36 KUDO line source boxes, and LA-RAK touring racks fitted with LA8 amplified controllers.

Music & Lights will thereby join several of the world's leading rental operations in collaborating with the L-Acoustics R&D team to field-test the new system.

"We have been looking for a full-sized system for a period of time and set up a list of criteria that the new system should meet," said Micke Ljungberg, CEO and owner of Music & Lights. "L-Acoustics' long experience underlines the great importance of the company and philosophy behind the system. We wanted a long-term collaboration rather than just buying a lot of boxes, and not until we started looking at L-Acoustics and K1 were all our boxes ticked. We are thrilled to join the K1 pilot programme and feel confident that this will be a good investment for the future."

Ljungberg - pictured here (middle) with Music & Lights colleagues Matthias Andersson and Daniel Ryd_n - went on to praise the frequency response and "amazing power" of the K1 system.

Considering the development of the K1/KUDO pilot scheme, L-Acoustics marketing director St_phane Ecalle tells PSN-e: "The K1/KUDO pilot phase started in the early stages of the recession. So far, 12 world class providers (and a few more to come) from five continents, representing an inventory of 800 K1 and 700 KUDO, have joined this unique and ambitious programme. The K1/KUDO system configurations have been tested under varied and real world conditions, and one must say that the bar for stadium and arena PA systems has been significantly raised from the V-DOSC days. We acknowledge that the investment in a K1/KUDO full system is a major one, but the anticipated acceptability level for owners will be in line with the extraordinary levels of performance that have been observed in the field."

In other recent news, Turkish sound and lighting rental company Bros Technic has purchased 12 L-Acoustics dV-DOSC line source array cabinets, four dV-SUB low frequency extensions, four SB28 subs and four LA8 amplified controllers.

Based in Istanbul, Bros Technic provides sound, lighting, rigging, staging and video services for a wide range of events. The company has already deployed its dV-DOSC system with a variety of major artists, including German 'metal orchestra' Haggard.

"Because we wanted to use what we consider the leading sound reinforcement products in the field from the moment we started our company, there was no choice other than L-Acoustics," said Bros Technic's Barış Kalem. "We believe this sets us apart from other rental companies in the region, and we are pleased to join the L-Acoustics rental network."
