JBL (by HARMAN) has been awarded five Gold Stevie Women in Business Awards across marketing and public relations categories.

Four of the awards have been granted to celebrate the women behind the 2018 JBL Fest activation, JBL Requestmas marketing campaign and the JBL LIVE headphone series launch. The fifth is to honour Kheri Tillman, VP of global brand development at HARMAN, for her marketing leadership contribution to the pro audio brand’s 2018 success.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is now in its 16th year and celebrates female executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run across the globe. Over 1,550 nominations from organisations of all sizes, including from 25 nations, were submitted this year for consideration.

HARMAN’s goal is close the gender leadership gaps that continue to exist, specifically in the technology industry. There are a vast number of women in leadership roles at HARMAN as a result.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honoured the following women from HARMAN: Kheri Tillman, VP of global brand development; Amanda Wormald, director, sports partnership activation; Denise Daly, head of US lifestyle public relations branding, product and luxury; Katie Raymond, head of digital marketing and social media; and Andrea Seib, head of music, influencer and partnership marketing.

“We are incredibly proud of the contributions our female leaders have made to HARMAN which has led to continued business growth and increased awareness for our brands,” said Ralph Santana, chief marketing officer at HARMAN. “We congratulate our team and all of the winners for their continued efforts to empower women and bring innovative ideas to the market.”

Tillman leads the creation of consumer communication through advertising, creative, media and PR, and is responsible for global brand development across all HARMAN brands including: JBL, Harman/Kardon, and Infinity. Her female-dominated team successfully executed events and campaigns leveraging professional athletes, leading pop culture influencers and music artists, for instance, Khalid was made a global brand ambassador. Judges honoured Tillman for her accomplishments with the following the GOLD award for Female Exec of Year: Consumer Products: +2500 Employees.

The other four awards granted are as follows:

GOLD: JBL Fest 2018: Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Media Relations.

GOLD: JBL Requestmas: Communications & Marketing: Small Budget Marketing Campaign of the Year.

GOLD: JBL Fall/Holidays 2018 (JBL Fest + JBL Requestmas): Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Marketing – Consumer Products.

GOLD: JBL LIVE launch event: Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – New Product Launch.

Created in 2017, JBL Fest is an immersive three-day brand event featuring musicians and celebrity personalities in entertainment, sports and pop culture. The 2018 event was hosted by model Olivia Culpo and included performances by Pitbull, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, and DJ Tigerlily. Additionally, Kevin Garnett, Magic Johnson, Priyanka Chopra, Quincy Jones, and AR Rahman were in attendance.

JBL Requestmas was a holiday activation where musical wishes came true via JBL LINK, the audio brand’s hands-free voice-activated speaker with Google Assistant built-in. JBL invited consumers, influencers and media to celebrate in the JBL store on Madison Avenue in New York featuring artist Andy Grammer and special guest Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC. The event was hosted by iHeart Radio’s Z100’s Skeery Jones, and later transitioned into a consumer activation.

The marketing team also implemented the multi-part event strategy in 2018 to launch JBL’s newest wireless headphone series: JBL LIVE. This was JBL’s most successful launch event in history and to celebrate and elevate the brand’s presence at Miami Music Week, JBL produced a media and influencer event at the Shore Club hotel property. The evening featured live performances from Miami’s own DJ Irie, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano with a celebrity guest appearance from Olivia Culpo.
