UK: The North London audio specialist was previously associated with Canegreen, which joined SSE last year, reports David Davies. The purchase of Green-i's installation business follows the acquisition last month of the company's hire inventory. Both operations will now be amalgamated into SSE's Hayes-based audio installations and contract hire division, SSE London.
Green-i director Ian Woodall (Woody) will initially work alongside SSE London's operations director, Emma Barwell, to ensure that existing contracts and relationships are supported and maintained.
"From my point of view I see a great deal of synergy between Green-i and SSE London operations, and I think that as one company we'll be able to add value for all our customers and benefits from the combined knowledge and experience of supplying audio systems to the club and bar industry," Barwell (pictured here with former Green-i director Andrew Frengley, who is now working for SSE) tells PSN-e. "I think it's going to be very exciting working together. It's acquisitions and mergers like this where we see an instant positive effect that makes you realise that there are always new opportunities to expand the business and improve the quality and variety of what you offer to all your clients, whether they are installations or outdoor events."
"I'm delighted with this deal because it means our existing clients will benefit greatly from the strength of SSE Audio Group and the wide range of audio services they offer," added Woody. "It also means in future I can take a less hands-on role, in the knowledge that all our clients are being looked after and the relationships we have built up over many years can be properly maintained."
