A ‘soft’ demo of the new STM M28 compact line array in the Chauvet Arena (pictured) was among the highlights for Nexo at a “hugely optimistic” inaugural PRO show earlier this month.
The demo of the STM M28 was “a huge success,” according to Nexo’s international marketing director, Ginny Goudy, and “impressed many people who no longer associate Nexo with club and DJ sound”.
“The arrival of this compact, lightweight M28 makes possible small groundstack or line array configurations of STM,” she comments, “bringing the awesome SPL characteristics of Nexo’s flagship technology within reach of clubs, mobile stages, DJs and live performance of all kinds.”
At 141dB peak SPL for the M28 main cabinet and 143dB for the S118 sub, the STM M28 is the most powerful PA system in its class in the world.
On its booth (pictured right), Nexo also reports strong showings for the new GEO M6 (which was “attracting a lot of attention,” according to Goudy) and classic DJ staple the PS Series.
“I’m hugely optimistic about this show,” says Nexo marketing director Ginny Goudy. “It promises to be exactly what the UK needs in terms of an annual audio technology showcase. The NEC environment is a pleasure for the exhibitors [and] access is easy for visitors. The mix of demos, performances, lectures and panel sessions is lively and educational, and a genuine attraction for visitors.
“As more élite brands join in the exhibition, the footfall will increase accordingly and the UK market will have a dynamic business event once more.”
The first PRO show took place on 13–15 September at the NEC in Birmingham.
Both PSNEurope and sister title Audio Pro International are media partners of PRO, a sister event of BPM, the DJ and electronic music production event. Other exhibitors included Martin Audio, Polar Audio, Bose, Flare Audio, Void Acoustics, LMC Audio Systems and Audio-Technica.
