UK: Maurice Patist is leading the new operation, which aims to service the global demand for large scale reference monitoring systems, reports David Davies. The newly-formed group will focus on professional recording, broadcast and custom installation/home theatre high-end market sectors.

Overseeing the group is strategic sales manager Maurice Patist (pictured), who was previously president of sales & marketing at PMC USA in Orange Country California. Patist will now relocate to Europe for easier access to PMC's HQ facilities.

The Specialist Systems Group will also draw upon "proven external resources" in the form of Jochen Veith at acoustic design consultancy jv-acoustics and John Goldstraw at project integrator Hathor Audio Ltd.

The principal product focus will be on PMC's MB2 and BB5 large active system that include ultra-low distortion PMC/Bryston active electronics packages complemented by other PMC products such as the wafer in- and on-wall series powered by the new ultra-slim DS-001 power module.

According to PMC, the Specialist Systems Group's facilities will be employed for all "high-level studio or consumer/CI projects where quality is paramount and compromise is not an option".

In other news, PMC recently initiated a new loudspeaker series, fact, oriented towards high-performance home applications. To read more about the first product in the series, click here for a story from PSN-e sister title IE Residential.
