Peavey Commercial Audio (PCA) is to return to holding stock in the UK, following an 18-month absence. PCA is partnering with AV logistics firm Velta, which owns a bonded warehouse facility in Witham, Essex.
PCA parent, Mississippi-based Peavey Electronics, closed its European warehouse (based in Corby, Northants) in late 2014, preferring a more “centralised operation” from the US and China. At the time, Peavey said its “reduction of complexity in operations” would bring “a significant benefit to its dealers and customers”.
However, recent new distributor agreements have expanded Peavey’s presence across Europe and therefore a requirement for a UK base, the company now reports. Distribution of Crest Audio and Peavey Professional lines from the Essex operation (including the Crest Tactus digital mixing system, above) will begin in mid-July.
James Kennedy, operations manager for Peavey Commercial Audio EMEA, says: “We are very happy to announce this new development in our logistics. We’ve seen growth across our portfolio and the interest in new products from Crest Audio is particularly encouraging.”
He added: “With some excellent new distributor agreements already made this year – including Neotecnica in Spain, Holland PA across Benelux and Visono in Sweden – we want to be able to serve these areas as conveniently as possible and our new UK-based stock will ensure we do just that.”
“Following a couple of years of intense product development, there are many new lines coming onto the market later this year from Peavey. We have a long standing relationship with Velta, from our past operation, and we are all looking forward to an exciting future.”
Doug Reynolds, managing director at Velta, says: “Velta effectively handle and manage supply chain solutions for many companies in the industry, and the decision for Peavey to place their latest operations with us is a testament to the experience that we have in working with the AV industry.
“The Velta Customs Compliance team have put together a tailored solution for streamlining the import clearance process and reducing related costs, making us the stand-out choice for Peavey Commercial Audio.”
