Former Midas Klark Teknik managing director John Oakley has joined the company as general manager. Jo Olenski (pictured right, with Oakley), chairman of the Ohm Group commented: “John joins us from blue-chip companies and brings a wealth of experience, which is just what we need at this time of very strong growth and change.” Oakley spent the last decade at MKT where he masterminded the company’s move into digital mixing. Previously he spent many years in various roles within Harman Professional, ultimately with the now discontinued Amek console brand. A graduate of Imperial College, he began his career in engineering development at the BBC. “I am extremely excited to be able to join a company with the potential of Ohm,” said Oakley. “We have a strong and developing product line and demand is high. Resources are stretched and I am delighted to be able to help Jo Olenski move Ohm to the next level of its development”. Olenski added: "We are currently experiencing a rapid growth in our turnover mainly due to the exports we are making to the Far East. India, Vietnam, and China are developing very rapidly for us due to the demand for high quality sound equipment and the 'Made in UK' cachet is highly regarded by the new Chinese entrepreneurs. We are reversing the trend in being a net exporter to the Far East. We will continue to expand our workforce at our Knutsford factory and have this month recruited new staff and we are looking to start an apprenticeship scheme in the near future." www.ohm.co.uk
