Former Atlantic Audio MD Wolfgang Garçon (pictured, below) is heading United-B, a new distribution company headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. Already confirmed in its product portfolio are pro-audio giants Martin Audio and DiGiCo. A more recent announcement has also confirmed MC2 and XTA have changed their distribution partner to United-B. “As we gain momentum, we will take on other well-known names, all of which will be companies that we have known and trusted for many years,” said Garçon. “This gives us the confidence to know that we are providing exactly what our customers need and that we can give them, and our brands, the service they truly deserve.” The new company is promising a strongly-focused and specialised support for all target markets, a fast response time and independent viewpoint between suppliers and clients. DiGiCo MD James Gordon commented: “The thing that differentiates Wolfgang’s new venture is that he won’t be sitting behind a desk all day; he’ll be out there, talking to people and gaining an even better understanding of the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis. Anthony Taylor, Martin Audio’s MD added: “We were seeking a deeper attention to the market place, a distributor that would get to the levels of detail in understanding different vertical market opportunities, and have the focus and determination to ensure Martin Audio can be at the forefront of these."

Richard Fleming, sales and applications manager for XTA and MC2 added: “Our time with Atlantic Audio has been happy, fruitful and greatly enjoyable, but all good things must come to an end. Luckily for us, this isn’t quite an ending, but more of an amazing opportunity to build on what we already had, and continue to work with well-respected people such as Wolfgang.” United-B – which stands for United Brands for Event Technology – officially launched on 1 November; a year after Garçon left Atlantic Audio. “I realised that this is what I was best placed to do, and shared my thoughts and discussed options with key manufacturers; they concluded that the advantages of conducting commerce via a distributor outweighed those of direct sales,” said Garçon. “We have no intention of building up a large brand portfolio but rather concentrate on a few remarkable brands, for whom we can provide dynamic, fully managed representation.” www.united-b.comwww.digico.bizwww.martin-audio.com
