The professional intercoms and communication equipment company has been acquired by Granite Sound Holdings, writes David Davies. Under the terms of the deal, the company formerly known as Stonewood Audio will henceforth trade as Granite Sound, which will be based from new offices in Sandhurst, Berkshire. The new operation will be headed up by a directorial board comprising Patrick Leahy, Christine Leahy and Peter Jones, who describes the acquisition as a “wonderful opportunity to refresh our fantastic range of products”. The Stonewood range, Jones tells PSN-e, “will be treated as the core business for Granite Sound, with dedicated staff to handle all requirements: three dedicated permanent members of staff to handle European sales and marketing, and further staffing at a technical and design level (currently one). Manufacturing will continue to be handled through the current channels.” Objectives for the rest of the year, meanwhile, include the re-establishment of these products as “the market leaders in their industry sector” as well as the provision of “stable support for end-clients and effective marketing assistance for dealers and representatives”. www.granitesound.com
