New areas, innovations abound at PLASA 2011

Cadac and Eclipse Lighting and Sound are among the returning/new exhibitors at this year’s event, which will take place at London’s Earls Court from 11-14 September.

PLASA Events highlights a multitude of new show features, including a Production Bar in EC2 sponsored by PRG, Pearce Hire and Lightspace. The popular Ecovenue, sponsored by The Theatres Trust, descends on Earls Court again for a showcase of eco-minded initiatives at 48 London theatres, while the Audio Think Tank area will be hosted by PSNE sister title Audio Pro International.

The seminar programme also continues to expand. Further to PSNE’s earlier coverage, PLASA has recently added new sessions on topics including Networking with AVB in Harman HiQnet Systems, Management Standards for Event Sustainability, Video for Audio Engineers, and Keep the Noise Down!, an RG Jones-presented seminar about sound on the Pyramid Stage.

Meanwhile, on the showfloor, Midas, EAW and Cadac are among the brands set to make significant new launches. Cadac is also one of several exhibitors returning after absence, while newcomers include Eclipse Lighting and Sound – the Barcelona-based arm of the Dushow Group – and Smithson Martin’s DJ and music production software Emulator at GMP.

Sophie Atkinson, events manager for PLASA Events, commented: “The response to this year’s show offer has already been extraordinary. We hope this underlines the power of the PLASA Show to bridge product and market sectors, connect people, and deliver a unique mix of business and networking opportunities in a way that no other major trade event can.

“We are looking forward to multiple international product launches, stellar presenters in the Education and Learning Programme, and exclusive show features that people will never have seen at other trade shows. Visitors can look forward to a creative, productive and sociable event for this rapidly evolving market.”
