“‘Network effect’ in full swing”, says Audinate CEO as Dante reaches 200 adoptees

German amp- and speaker-maker AD Systems is licensee №200

Audinate announced today that its audio-over-IP networking solution, Dante, has been adopted by 200 manufacturers. The company, headquartered in Sydney, Australia, unveiled its 150th licensee, Kramer Electronics, in June (see EXCLUSIVE: Kramer is 150th Dante licensee), adding 50 new adopters in just under seven months.

Dante’s 200th licensee is AD Systems, a German manufacturer of amplifiers and loudspeakers. (Pictured is the Impuls NT4 amplifier.)

Audinate also used the occasion to reveal that it has shipped over 20 million Dante network channels to date, with 50 per cent of those 20m shipping in the last year. This company says the proliferation has been driven by “an increasing number of earlier licensees now shipping Dante-enabled products, as well as increased demand from the market”, adding that it “expects this number to continue to accelerate as products from recent licensees hit the market and existing manufacturers integrate Dante into more products”.

Recent licensees span a wide range of industries and applications, and Audinate states that it is targeting manufacturers from “diverse verticals” including the broadcast, conferencing, IT and communications markets.

“We are excited to be Dante’s 200th licensee and help celebrate this major milestone,” comments AD System’s Sven Haferkamp. “Including Dante in our products was an easy decision, as Dante has become the de facto standard for audio networking and opens up new markets for us.”

Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate, adds: “We are pleased that so many manufacturers have aligned around Dante as their preferred solution for audio networking. The rapid growth we’ve seen in the last 12 months is indicative that the ‘network effect’ is in full swing, which will only make Dante more valuable to OEMs and end users alike.”
