MicW – the Beijing-based manufacturer whose products are distributed in the UK by eMerging – will introduce two new i-series microphones designed for use with the iPhone and iPad (as well as other mobiles devices) at NAMM 2012. The omnidirectional i825 and cardioid i855 lavalier microphones feature a 4mm diameter capsule, and are easily hidden from view for television and video productions. Reportedly, they are robust enough for ENG use. Each microphone is supplied with an accessory kit including two clips, two windscreens, a split cable with headphone output for monitoring purposes, and a variety of attachment tapes. The i825 and i855 are the latest additions to MicW’s i-series of microphones, which include the i436 reference microphone previously reported on by PSNE.
