Multiple Pro Sound Award nominations for L-Acoustics, Red TX and Goldcrest Post

French loudspeaker manufacturer L-Acoustics, Soho facility Goldcrest Post and location recording specialist Red TX are among the finalists who have been nominated in several categories for a Pro Sound Award.

Toby Alington, Sennheiser and DiGiCo also feature multiple times in the final selections. The winners – chosen by an independent panel of judges –will be announced at the first Pro Sound Awards event, to be held at the Ministry of Sound in London on Thursday 19 September. L-Acoustics has been nominated three times: for its work with the Hollywood Bowl in the USA (Permanent Installation Award) and the Olivier Theatre in London (Temporary Installation), and also in the Marketing Campaign of the Year category. Goldcrest Post features in the Broadcast Facility category for work on many high profile TV projects this year, while head of Goldcrest Foley, Julien Pirrie, rockets into the final four of the Rising Star constellation. Red TX tussles for two titles, appearing on the Broadcast Event shortlist for Sound of Change Live, and in the Broadcast Team of the Year group for Strictly Come Dancing at Wembley Arena. Toby Alington has been nominated as Studio Engineer of the Year, as well as becoming a Broadcast Audio Team of the Year finalist for his work with the BRIT Awards crew. DiGiCo, the digital console developer, makes it a double, appearing on the shortlists for After-sales Support and Marketing Campaign of the Year. Sennheiser score a hat-trick of nominations: for Eurovision (Broadcast Event of the Year) and the David Bowie Is… exhibition at the V&A (Temporary Installation), plus an individual nomination for the company’s Mark Saunders in the After-sales Support slot. Tileyard Studios are nominated for a Permanent Installation award, while one of its residents, Mark Ronson, is up a finalist for Recording Production of the Year. And Ed Ferguson of the National Theatre can claim to be associated with two nominations also: the L-Acoustics refit of the Olivier, and playing a major part in the NTLive broadcasts undertaken by Conrad Fletcher and the Mixbus Audio group (nominated for Broadcast Team of the Year).
