Meyer Sound has promoted a key executive and announced a strategic reshuffling of sales and technical services, prompted by continuing global sales growth.
Promotion of John McMahon
John McMahon has been promoted to the position of SVP of sales and marketing. In his expanded role, McMahon now takes full responsibility for global sales, with all US regional and international sales managers reporting directly to him. McMahon will also lead all of the brand’s customer-facing operations, including marketing, technical services and education/training.
Meyer Sound’s executive VP, Helen Meyer, commented: “By placing high-level direction of all our customer-related responsibilities in John’s extraordinarily capable hands we will ensure a close coordination of these interdependent activities. Customer relationships are at the heart of how we run our business, and this move will further strengthen the links between our sales, marketing, technical services and education teams.”
Realignment of sales structure
Meyer Sound has also realigned its international sales structure and expanded the roles of overseas offices.
Meyer Sound Germany, under the direction of Wolfgang Leute, has expanded its role to support dealer networks in the UK, Scandinavia and parts of Eastern Europe. Meyer Sound’s distributors in Russia, the Baltics, Romania and Bulgaria will receive additional support under Leute’s direction.
Jocelyn Moras will assume responsibility of managing the sales teams throughout Latin America, including Central and South America and the Caribbean. Meyer Sound Mexico returns to being the sole and exclusive distributor for Mexico, under Moras’ direction from the Mexico City office.
Sales throughout Asia have been refocused under the direction of director of international sales Scott Gledhill who has been a leader on the Meyer Sound sales team for more than 30 years. Gledhill will continue to manage Meyer Sound’s network of European distributors in addition to leading Asian sales activities with support from the new Meyer Sound Asia office recently established in Singapore.
Additionally, some specific responsibilities and reporting structures have changed. Technical services responsibilities have been realigned for more internal efficiencies and improved customer communications with technical services manager, international, Dennis Tholema, heading a global team from Meyer Sound Europe offices in Germany.
McMahon commented on the changes: “As an independent and privately owned business, we have the freedom and flexibility to make structural changes quickly in response to demands. Although we are introducing new internal structures, most of our customers will be working with the same great Meyer Sound employees as before, and they will continue to benefit from the same industry-leading level of support.”
Meyer Sound management at the highest level remains unchanged since 1979. President and CEO John Meyer continues leadership of the R&D and new product development teams while executive VP Helen Meyer directs overall company operations.
