Meyer names new digital chief

US/CANADA: John McMahon is Meyer Sound's first-ever executive director of digital products, reports PSN-e. The newly-created position is said to reflect the company's expanding commitment to the development and integration of its digital products, which have been specified for a number of major international theatrical productions, tours, festivals and events during recent years.

US/CANADA: John McMahon is Meyer Sound's first-ever executive director of digital products, reports PSN-e. The newly-created position is said to reflect the company's expanding commitment to the development and integration of its digital products, which have been specified for a number of major international theatrical productions, tours, festivals and events during recent years.

In his new role, McMahon will oversee the strategic direction of marketing, sales, and research and development of Meyer Sound's key digital signal processing technologies, including the Galileo loudspeaker management system, Matrix3 audio show control and Constellation electroacoustic architecture, along with all related hardware and software development. He will divide his time between Meyer Sound's headquarters in Berkeley, California, and its offices in Vernon, British Columbia.

"Meyer Sound's acquisition of LCS Audio in 2005 was the first step in what has [resulted in] a new era, with both companies' strengths creating a synergy that is nearly limitless in its potential going forward," said McMahon. "I'm truly excited to be taking on this new role within Meyer Sound, and look forward to unveiling the results of our dedicated research and development teams in the coming months."

In other recent appointments news, Teri McLennan has been promoted to the role of business operations manager at Meyer Sound Canada. McLennan will assume many of the day-to-day operational responsibilities that McMahon has been handling up until now.

UK: The former Shuttlesound sales consultant is Midas/Klark Teknik's new technical sales manager, reports PSN-e. Jason Kelly - who has also worked as a sound engineer and system designer, and headed up his own rental and production company - is the first to take on the newly-created role at Midas/Klark Teknik. He is replaced at Shuttlesound by Rob Hughes, previously a production manager at SSE.
