Paul Nunnington, product manager at Sennheiser UK, passed away peacefully on last week after a six-year battle with cancer.
Sennheiser issued the following statement shortly afterwards:
“He held on until his birthday… what a guy!
“Described as a true gentleman by all who knew him, Paul had a mild temperament and an encyclopaedic knowledge of [pro-audio] products and the business.
“Paul will be sorely missed by all at Sennheiser UK, along with many in the broader pro-audio and music industries.”
“We will all miss him dearly, but we know that Heaven will be a better place with him in it,” Gerry Forde, Sennheiser UK director of sales (pro, IS and MI), told PSNEurope. “We ask that you keep his wife, Karen, and his beautiful children in your thoughts and prayers at this time.”
Tributes on Paul’s Facebook page were numerous and heartfelt.
Stephanie Dell of Sound Marketing called him “the most courageous, determined and dignified man I have ever met”, while Ian Cullen of Sound Technology, an ex-colleague of Paul, said: “[his] courage and fight will always be an inspiration.”
Tim Chapman of TC Group/Lab.gruppen wrote, “It was an honour to have known you,” and LSi editor Lee Baldock posted, “What a brave and lovely guy, an example to us all.”
Paul’s funeral will be held on Monday 23 June at 10.45am at Chiltern Crematorium, Whielden Lane, Amersham, Bucks. HP7 0ND.
