Taking place at the Holiday Inn Amsterdam during the week of the ISE trade show, the free one-day seminar will examine the design and deployment of digital networks for contemporary pro-AV systems, reports David Davies.
Manufacturers set to participate in the Tuesday 31 January event include Lab.gruppen , Peavey Commercial Audio, Bosch Communications Systems, Yamaha Commercial Audio, Audinate and ASL.
The 2012 AV Networking Congress will be a multi-session panel-based event, addressing topics including voice alarm and evacuation systems, stadia and large venues, digital media in theatres, and an introduction to the OCA (Open Control Architecture) Alliance. There will also be a look at the evolution of digital audio transport, presented by Audinate’s CTO Aidan Williams.
Leading independent consultants set to take part in the panel discussions include Sam Wise of Arup (UK), Richard Northwood of COMS (UK) and Martin Wunderlich (Wunderton), as well as key specialists in their field such as Peter Cox of Thames Audio and Scott George of Autograph Sales.
“The combination of ISE and the AV Networking Congress is a winner for keeping up-to-date with the latest in AV and how to implement it in a robust manner,” said Northwood. “I’m looking forward to participating in a wide-ranging event without manufacturer bias that stimulates open discussion on the future of networked audio and control – which are fundamental topics for so many systems we do today.”
Lab.gruppen’s product manager for install products, Klas Dalbjorn (pictured), will also participate and tells PSN-e of his hopes that the the day “can help to build awareness on the benefits with a common and open control protocol. After the day the participant should understand that OCA is such a protocol and that it is designed to work with multiple audio over Ethernet transport solutions.”
