The console maker has announced the creation of a new facility in Zurich and a company, LES Switzerland GmbH, to support Lawo R&D activities.

LES Switzerland GmbH (LES stands for ‘Lawo Engineering Services’) will primarily advance the development of new products for the pro-audio market. Personnel include engineers with extensive experience of software and hardware development for a variety of pro-audio applications.

“We are happy that at Lawo we find ideal R&D conditions to translate our experience and ideas in a creative way,” said a staff member of the new R&D centre in Zurich.

Further confirming Lawo’s focus on R&D, the company has also appointed Stefan Ledergerber (pictured above) to the role of director research & development. In the newly-created position, Ledergerber – whose previous credits include director of research & development at Soundcraft Studer – will work with all individual Lawo development locations and technology partners, and advance the communication of the group.

“I am looking forward to working with the exciting and experienced colleagues of Lawo,” said Ledergerber. “With innovative and high-quality products and solutions Lawo has proved for decades that this company enjoys an excellent reputation amongst the mixing console manufacturers and deservedly so.”
