Amplifier technology developer Lab.gruppen, part of the TC Group of companies, has been confirmed as the co-headline sponsor of the second Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the world famous Ministry of Sound on 25 September.
Lab.gruppen shares the spotlight with microphone/headphone giant Sennheiser.
““The Lab.gruppen name has been built on a pioneering spirit of innovation and excellence, growing hand-in-hand with the professional audio industry as it has matured over the past four decades into the exciting and vibrant industry that it is today,” says media & PR executive Mark Millar. “It’s natural and fitting for us to support a fantastic event such as the Pro Sound Awards which seeks to recognise and honour such spirit among the people and companies that continue to push the boundaries… and of course we wish all the finalists the best of luck!””
Lab.gruppen launched its new D Series of amplifiers at InfoComm this year. This range demonstrates advances in three key areas: system interoperability, smart power handling, and superlative green credentials. The 35-year-old Swedish company said D Series represented “the most advanced and capable install-dedicated platform [it had] ever conceived”.
The second Pro Sound Awards, to be held at the south-east London nightclub on 25 September, encompasses the wide spectrum of pro audio, recognising excellence in the four sectors of Installed Sound, Studio, Broadcast Audio and Live/Touring Sound, along with four special awards for Rising Star, Marketing Initiative of the Year, Grand Prix and Lifetime Achievement. Martin Audio is sponsoring the reception drinks at the event, and Sony is once again supporting awards in the Broadcast Audio category. Further sponsors are to be announced. ‘The Pre-Roll’ will run for two hours ahead of the awards. This is a two-hour session of one-on-one interviews and panel discussions starring leading lights of the pro-audio industry. Both Monty Python producer Andre Jacquemin and Depeche Mode/Elbow producer Ben Hillier are confirmed participants at the event, with more names to be confirmed shortly.
