UK-wide distributor Impact announced an exclusive UK distribution deal with Cheshire-based loudspeaker manufacturer Ohm at PLASA Focus in Leeds. The partnership also launched a new “jointly-developed, affordable” speaker range, JET by Ohm.
“We had been looking for a very special distributor to spearhead our UK sales activities for some time,” said Ohm general manager John Oakley, who joined the company from Midas KT in January 2012. “Impact has great people with remarkable marketing skills, a great branch network and exemplary logistics. The JET by Ohm range perfectly complements the other great Ohm products, all of which can be auditioned in Impact’s superb demonstration facilities.”
Impact, which has just announced the opening of six new branches across the UK, can arrange auditions for trade customers anywhere in the country, and will be happy to arrange demos of the entire Ohm range.
“Impact has been looking to partner a high end audio brand that will allow us to really add value,” added Impact MD Grant Lester (pictured, right, with Ohm’s head of sales Clive Kinton, left, and Impact sales manager Ralph Stockley). “We already provide a quality service on behalf of the leading players, but we don’t often get the chance to develop products with them. The JET by Ohm products have the best of both worlds: superb audio performance from the Ohm R&D team combined with market-led product design and pricing from Impact.”
The JET by Ohm range comprises three top boxes to provide high and middle audio frequencies. These can be used alone or in conjunction with bass and subwoofer units (three of each) from the range. The JET-T10, for instance, features a 10” woofer and 1” high frequency compression driver; the entry-level JET-B15 consists of a 15” bass driver mounted in a JET SALT (Symmetrical Air Load Technology) enclosure; while the biggest subwoofer offered is the JET-SUB218, producing 3,000W with two 18” drivers covering 26-115Hz. www.impact-products.co.ukwww.ohm.co.uk
